The Songwriter

Started songwriting career in 1977 when Greg signed with CBS Songs. Greg GUIDRY got his first major cut on Columbia recording artist Rex SMITH. That album sold one million copies. He has been on the song writing staff of seven major publishing companies. The following is a list of those companies : CBS Songs, Interworld Music Group, Chapell Music, Tree International, Motown (Jobete Music), EMI Music (Capitol Records) and Maypop Music Group.

In 1981, Greg signed an artist recording contract with Columbia Records and released his first LP in 1982. That album produced 2 hit singles for him. Three other songs on that album were hits for other artists. He co-produced his album with producer John RYAN, but he produced his first hit from that album by himself. That song (Goin' Down) became a top 10 pop and adult contemporary charts hit, LP and single sold over 500,000 copies.
