Steve ARCHER
INTRODUCTION - Steve ARCHER, well-known CCM artist has signed a recording contract with Kle-Toi Records. This comes on the heels of very successful solo career following a brilliant, ground breaking career with his brother and sister in a group called The ARCHERS.
- Although Steve hadn't recorded a new project for several years hadn't recorded a new project for several years, he's been no stranger to audiences around North America, doing 100 to 200 dates per year. And the excitement is growing as the industry hears the return to recording for the one whom many have said is the best male voice in Contemporary Christian Music.
- Steve's new project is entitled STAY RIGHT HERE (released May 15, 1998). Titles includes: I Know It's You, Still The One, Prayer Always Changes Things, Show Some Love, People, Care, You Never Leave, We All Fall Down, Angeline (from a previously unreleased recording - bonus track) and featuring the hit singles: Back On My Feet and Stay Right Here.
BIOGRAPHY - Born and raised in California in a musical family, Steve ARCHER began singing at age 9 with his brothers and by 13 had won 2nd place nationally in a Teen Talent Search. However, it wasn't until after graduation that his music career began to soar.
- One of the pioneers of Contemporary Christian Music, The ARCHERS, consisting of family members Steve, Tim and Janice, toured extensively both in the U.S. and abroad, performing for President and Mrs. CARTER at the White House, and appearing on many television shows, including the Jerry LEWIS Telethon, the Easter Seals Telethon, America's Music, The Mike Douglas Show and peaking with their own half hour television show produced and aired by Trinity Broadcasting Network.
- In 1980, The ARCHERS received a Grammy Award for THE LORD'S PRAYER, a musical by Reba RAMBO and Dony McGUIRE and performed on the Grammy Award telecast.
- In 1981, they again appeared on the Grammy Award telecast and were nominated for a Grammy for their album, SPREADIN' LIKE WILDFIRE.
- In 1982, Steve released his first solo project, SOLO, after 10 years and 13 albums with The ARCHERS.
- In 1983, Steve's 2nd solo album's, THROUGH HIS EYES OF LOVE, title song jumped to number 1 on the CCM Charts accompanied by his first music video, popular and in great demand by video shows nationwide.
- In 1985, ACTION, produced by Skip CONTE, Chris CHRISTIAN and Keith THOMAS, featured a duet with Marilyn McCOO; Safe soared to number 2 on the Charts and was voted as 1986's number 4 Song Of The Year.
- OFF THE PAGE produced by Steve, Skip CONTE and Chris CHRISTIAN included 2 songs that climbed up to the Top 5 on the Charts.
- With the release of STAY RIGHT HERE, Steve's heart is to see people changed and encouraged by the positive message of God's unconditional love.
