PLAYER reissue
The French label Magic Records has just reissued the PLAYER album Spies Of Life (originally
released on RCA/BMG in 1981). The album features nice tunes as for example If Looks could kill,
Some Things are better said and It's only hurts when I breathe.

RICKIE LEE JONES album
JONES is going to release her first album for Artemis Records, entitled It's Like This during
September. Some tracks: Trouble Man (Marvin Gaye), For No One (The Beatles), One Hand, One Heart
(from West Side Story), The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys (Traffic), Smile (Charlie Champlin).
After 5 dates in Canada, RICKIE will do a European tour in July and August (Germany, France,
Norway, Denmark and Sweden).

JEFFREY OSBORNE TV appearance
On Saturday, June 24, 2000, JEFFREY OSBORNE will be performing Love Ballad on the WB's
Celebration of Black Music program (in The States).  Also appearing on the WB are Tyrese
and Boys II Men. The Celebration of Black Music program will begin at 8:00 PM and end at
10:00 PM. Love Ballad is one of 12 jams featured on Jeffrey's latest release That's For Sure.

RANDY NEWMAN is a winner
For his enduring contributions in popular music, songwriter RANDY NEWMAN has been named
the 2000 recipient of the Century Award, Billboard's highest honor for distinguished creative
achievement. The show recorded in Las Vegas, will be aired soon on Fox TV in The States.
Here are the words of the 9th winner of this great award:
"I'm honored to have been designated as the winner of this year's Billboard Century Award.
It's an illustrious group I join. I hope I will do nothing to embarrass them," Newman said.
Already Billy Joel, Joni Mitchell and James Taylor have recieved this award in the past.

The Dutch band DIESEL has a compilation out now named Sausolito Summernight.

JAMES TAYLOR indian?
JAMES appears on the Appalachian Journey Live In Concert CD already available
and that will be released on video August 15. 
He sings Benjamin, a tune co-written by him with Edgar Meyer and Mark O'Connor.

Welcome to the HOTEL CALIFORNIA
Hotel California (at Addison, Texas) Grill doesn't exist anymore. Its new name
is the Baja California Grill and all signs in reference of the EAGLES megahit
must be removed according to the settlement announced this week by the judge.
The EAGLES sued in May the owner of the restaurant Bill Arnold. The restaurant
can't also play only EAGLES music. Take it easy!

TRIO featuring
On June 20, the album Like A Brother, by Gerry Beckley (AMERICA), Robert Lamm (Chicago)
and the late Carl Wilson (the Beach Boys), will be released in the States. Another interesting
piece of news is a remix of Gerry Beckley's solo album Van Go Gan, entitled Go Man Go that is planned
this year for a US release.

ROBBIE DUPREE live
For West Coast fans planning on being in the greater New York area on june 16 and 17
ROBBIE will be appearing in concert at the Wall Street Playhouse, 292 wall street,

The shows are duet performances with  keyboardist David Sancious (best known for his
outstanding work with Sting, Peter Gabriel and  Bruce Springsteen).

JACK TEMPCHIN peaceful easy living
JACK TEMPCHIN is playing each monday at The Joint in L.A.
The band includes legends of West Coast Music:
- Waddy Wachtel (who played on the last Stones album and was in Keith Richards 
band The Expensive Wino's),
- Phil Jones (who played drums with Tom Petty),
- Rick the Bass Player (who plays with Joe Walsh and Neil Young),
They have been playing for 5 mondays and have had the following guests sit 
in for a few songs:
Chris Hillman (founding member of The Birds and The Flying Burrito Brothers),
Johnny River (Secret Agent Man, Poor Side of Town, Memphis, Slow Dancing),

LANCE just returned from a European tour. He is signed to Provogue Records in the
Netherlands and the tour I just did was primarily in Germany. His new record Empty V is
doing well in Europe.

On June 1st, in New York City, there was the launch of imntv.com, a new Cable/Internet 
music network. The launch party featured a performance by the IMN Advisory Board All Star band.

JEFF LARSON new CD
JEFF LARSON new album entitled Room For Summer will be out on August 1 on New Surf North. If you like
America, the Beach Boys, great harmony vocals, please pay attention to this artist...
It is just mastered now. Gerry Beckley (America) sang with JEFF on one track called Carol Ann.
STEELY DAN: they do it again!
STEELY DAN has started his North American tour in Portland, Oregon on june 1st
With a 11-piece band (and a the sign language interpreter), DONALD FAGEN and
WALTER BECKER have convinced the audience. FAGEN played at the electric piano/
portable keyboard and WALTER BECKER did a magnificient guitar work.
The band features: John Herrington (guitar),Ricky Lawson (drums), a four-piece
horn section, 3 backing vocalists (feat. Victoria Cave)...
Strangely, STEELY DAN didn't play any tune from Gaucho album and forgot Rikki
Don't Loose That Number and Reelin' in the Years.
Set-list (2 hours): The Boston Rag, Bodhisattva, Night by Night, Janie Runaway,

BRUCE GAITSCH update (with his own words!)
It is sunny and wonderful here in Nashville. I am recording with Peter Cetera these past two days.
Michael Omartian is  producing...this was be fun.  Then I went to NYC to help launch a new music
cable network called IMNTV....Check out the board members.... Besides myself and Bill Champlin
we have Mr. Lukather and quite a few very savy music people as well as lawyers and ex VH1 people.
We were performing, Janey  and I and Bill and I.  We wid Aphasia for the first time live...with 
Luke on lead guitar...Tamara Champlin and Janey sang bg's for the show.  Then I will go to Chicago
for a week to write and record with Richard  Marx...I am having a great spring and summer looks
great too. Amy Sky  and I just wrote three more songs together up in Toronto, Marc Jordan and I
rerecorded Crucifix in dreamland... I have also just finished playing on 14 new Nicolas Peyrac
songs... His new CD IS AWESOME. So, all I need now is to have some time to finish my 4th CD.

BRIAN WILSON has just opened his official website (see the COOL LINKS section) that features some
audio feeds from his new double CD entitled Live At The Roxy Theater. In early july, BRIAN will do
concert with symphony orchestras before joining his band to play entirely the magic Pet Sounds album
(1966).
SHAWN COLVIN tour
SHAWN COLVIN will open concerts for Sting gig for 6 dates in The USA. Her summer tour,
will begin in Iowa on June 10 and will end at Snowbird in Utah on August 18. She will
sing songs from her most recent release Holiday Songs and Lullabies, released back in
October 1998. These will be acoustic gigs.

SIMON PHILLIPS tour
Due to the TOTO tour dates in Europe in june, SIMON PHILLIPS will reschedule his
solo tour for the end of this year.


TOMMY DENANDER is Radioactive
MTM Music Germany and TOMMY DENANDER have settled an agreement for an album called
Radioactive. Firstly recorded with Jeff, Mike and Steve Porcaro and David Paich in Los Angeles back
in 1991 and intended to be a solo album for TOMMY. Due to differences and trouble with his label back
then,DENANDER bought the tapes back and over the 9 years the album changed from being a solo thing to
duo group to what it is now. It was recorded right after Toto´s Kingdom of Desire.
The core of the songs of the album were written by Tommy, and also features the writing talents
from Richard Marx, Bruce Gaitsch and Bill Champlin, and vocal find vocal performances from Fergie
Frederiksen, Bobby Kimball, Bill Champlin, Fee Waybill, Jason Scheff... Also feat. Richard Page,
Joseph Williams and Janey Clewer. On guitars are: TOMMY, Michael Thompson, Mike Landau and Bruce
Gaitsch. On keys: David Paich, Steve Porcaro, David Garfield, Robbie Buchanan... The album will be
completed during the summer months of July-August - September and will be planned to be finished for
a fall release.
MICHAEL FRANKS without Christmas
MICHAEL FRANKS Christmas album previously announced for the end of 1999 has been
postponed by Windham Hill Records USA.

CAROLE KING live
Aaron Neville, Brian McKnight and CAROLE KING will perform live at the 31st annual
National Academy of Popular Music/Songwriter's Hall of Fame, at the Sheraton New York
Hotel and Towers (Manhattan) on June 15. The teens anson will sing a Beach Boys medley
that will honor Brian Wilson. CAROLE KING will perform for James Taylor. Also at the stage,
John David Souther and Phoebe Snow are annnounced. Don Henley and Glenn Frey will be also inducted during
the ceremony.

JACKSON BROWNE stalker
Last week, 47-year-old Roberta Rasp was charged with 5 felonies against JACKSON BROWNE and a member of his
family and was arrested. This woman accused of stalking JACKSON has pled not guilty. JACKSON feared for his
life.

AMERICA Box-set
Rhino Records USA will release on July 18 a 3-CD (64 tracks) box-set from AMERICA
entitled Highway: 30 Years of AMERICA. The band starts a summer tour in The States
from July 1 (Oklahoma City) to October.

BEACH BOYS revival
Most of the BEACH BOYS albums will be remastered and re-released by Capitol Records
on July 18: Sunflower and Surf's Up (on one CD). In Concert will follow.
Brian Wilson is going to sing some tunes from Pet Sounds during his forthcoming US tour.

FOREIGNER Box-set
Rhino Records USA will also release on August 25 a double-CD (45 tracks) from FOREIGNER: Jukebox Heroes:
The FOREIGNER Anthology. The booklet is gonna featured new interviews with Mick Jones and Lou Gramm
as well as rare tunes from FOREIGNER and Spooky Tooth. The band starts an extensive tour in The USA
on June 9 at El Paso (Texas).
