AIR PARMA - Air Parma (WingDing Records USA) AIR PARMA is a new trio band: GEORGE MARINELLI Jr (vocals, guitars) founding member of Bruce Hornsby & The Range, played also with Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne and Shawn Colvin; VINCE SANTORO (drums, vocals) was a member of the Cicadas and played with Rodney Crowell, Rosanne Cash and Felix Cavaliere; MARK PRENTICE (bass, vocals, piano) has worked with Lyle Lovett, The Fairfield Tour, Elvis Costello and John Fogerty. Let's Rock with AIR PARMA! In this album, there is the sound of Southern Rock (Place In The Sun, Not Very Likely) sometimes similar to the great years of Bruce Hornsby and The Range (the piano here is a guitar!), a nice latino approach (Good Things), and a killing country rock ballad (Andale) and Westcoast Music mid-tempos (Still Wondering, Looking For The Rain)... All the tunes are extremely well played but with so such talented musicians, how this can be different. The leading voice (GEORGE MARINELLI) goes well; thanks for him! In the acoustic/Rock field, certainly one of the best releases of this year. Like Rodney Crowell tells about AIR PARMA: "the songwriting is very refreshing and the performances spiced with a sense of humor that is charmingly captivating."(by Jean-Luc Raymond) 01. Place In The Sun, 02. Not Very Likely, 03. The Best Of Times, 04. Good Things, 05. Andale, 06. Still Wondering, 07. One Less Wounded Heart, 08. Marigold Hill, 09. Looking For The Rain, 10. Meet Me Halfway. AIR PARMA will do a concert at the BlueBird Cafe in Nashville, TN on August 10, don't miss them! JEFF LARSON - Room For Summer (New Surf North USA) If there is someone who can do a clear and nice digest of Surf Music (melodies...) and great harmony vocals from Southern California (the band America), there is one name: JEFF LARSON. This young guy has integrated many influences to write his own music and words in the tradition of acoustic Westcoast Music... Here again, a new album with wonderful tunes that express more than music: take good attention to Valentine Note (and you find there an incredible intensity in the combination of music and words), Lauren (a sad but very expressive song). The harmony vocals and backing vocals are not only a game but are very refreshing: Her Heart, Lot To Learn... JEFF LARSON sings, plays guitars. Hank Linderman is collaborating too as well as Gerry Beckley (from AMERICA) one one tune. And again Jeffrey Foskett is here to deliver his talents. Listen patiently to this new JEFF LARSON album. It's already sounds great in the summer breeze! (by Jean-Luc Raymond) 01. Hey, 02. Carol Ann, 03. Sarah's Song, 04. Valentine Note, 05. Lot To Learn (Blue Pacific), 06. Room For Summer, 07. EAGLES album? DON HENLEY quote: "Last summer, we did go into the studio in Los Angeles for a while, and we recorded 4 or 5 things in the hopes of starting a new EAGLES album. And frankly, we weren't all on the same page as far as production values, songwriting values, and things like that. We were definitely headed down the track towards making a very mediocre record, so I think we needed some distance from it."
