Two Airports in the Dordogne!
Our very rural department has 2 airports: Bergerac airport and Bassillac Périgueux airport.
Only Bergerac-Roumanière airport offers regular flights, indeed since June 2018, there are no more general public flights from Périgueux airport, this airport still open is intended for business aviation (private flights), leisure aviation but also for medical evacuations and organ transport.

Bergerac airport, known as "Aéroport de Bergerac Dordogne Périgord", is an international airport and offers several regular flights to major European cities with 4 airlines: British Airway, Ryan Air, Transavia and Jet2.com.
From Bergerac you can go to :
- In the UK in London (Stansted and city), Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Bornmouth, Bristol, Leeds Bradford, East Midlands and Southhampton
- In the Netherlands in Rotterdam (large international airport)
- In Portugal at Porto airport
- In Belgium in Charleroy Brussels
There are occasional direct flights to Albania, Jordan and Malta.

Why not opt for the train?
Travelling by train is perfect for those who want to sit back, relax and see a bit more of the countryside and region surrounding the Dordogne. There is a good regional SNCF train service that runs through the Dordogne Valley, stopping at the main towns and offering bus links to others.
The main train stations in the Périgord are in Périgueux, Bergerac, Sarlat-la-Caneda and in the nearby Quercy region in Brive-la-Gaillarde. These are accessible from other major French cities such as Bordeaux, Paris, Limoges, Lyon and Toulouse where international airports are located.
