The Gabarres de Bergerac
The Dordogne along the river
Welcome to Gabarres de Bergerac
Since Gallo-Roman times, the Dordogne River has been the main communication route between the Massif Central, the Auvergne and Bordeaux. From autumn onwards, when the water was sufficiently high, flat-bottomed boats, known as Gabares, travelled the river.
The Gabarres de Bergerac offer 3 tours on the Dordogne on these now motorized boats.
