The Castle of Neuvic
During a guided tour, come and discover the Neuvic Castlefull of history and captivating anecdotes. The 500-year-old Renaissance-style castle will open its doors to you for a visit rich in discoveries.
The castle of Neuvic is classified historical monumentIt is furnished and has authentic Renaissance murals. Like most renaissance castles, it is used as a dwelling place, it is Annet de Fayolle who built it around 1520, then having no children, he passed it on to one of his nephews Jehan de Mellet whose descendants will remain owners until 1925, when it was sold.
In 1950 the last owners bequeathed the Château de Neuvic to the Fondation de l'Isle to take in children in difficulty.
The Botanical Park:
Outside you will discover the botanical park and the arboretum of the castle of Neuvic.
On 6 hectares, the botanical park groups together plant collections of multiple species (oaks, vine, dogwoods, willows, maples, etc.), are also installed nesting boxes, feeders, insect shelters and fallow areas by the children of I.M.E.
Since 2006, the park is part of the refuges of the League for the Protection of Birds. (LPO)
The walk along the river leads to Diana's Bath, a romantic 18th century cave where romantic meetings used to take place.
