PARC LE BOURNAT

Theme park: A day in 1900 in the Dordogne

Welcome to Parc du Bournat

Meet the villagers of Le Bournat as you stroll through the narrow streets of this village reconstructed from authentic Périgord stone. Time has stood still in 1900, but life is not standing still: like a beehive, it's buzzing everywhere.

Le Bournat in Occitan means the beehiveWe owe its existence to Paul Jean Souriau, a lover of the region, who wanted to share with you the atmosphere of his childhood on this 8-hectare site on the banks of the Vézère.

Le Parc

Visit the school, have fun on the vintage funfair rides, embark on a discovery of the marshes, discover the farm animals or meet the craftsmen who will show you the trades of yesteryear. A country stroll and a family party in a unique leisure park: everything is done to make you experience the joy and warmth of a day in "sweet France".

In our restaurant, you'll enjoy local cuisine made with vegetables from our own garden. You'll climb up to the mill to taste bread baked on site by our artisan baker.

Attractions at Le Bournat

At Le Bournat, you'll have fun the old-fashioned way, and our 1900s attractions will delight the whole family.

  • Carousel, rickshaw, Ferris wheel...and the authentic art nouveau style caterpillar. There are a dozen rides at Le Bournat funfair. Enough to make your head spin!
  •  Discover the Stanley Montain Wagon bus ride, a replica of the legendary turn-of-the-century American bus driven by a guide in the purest tradition of bus drivers.
  • Have your photo taken in our photo studio, dressed in traditional 1900s costumes.

The trades of the last century

Discover the trades of the last century... Cutler, baker, jam-maker, miller, blacksmith, brewer, glass spinner, lace-maker... So many old trades that are coming back to life in our village suspended in 1900. The craftsmen of Le Bournat have not lost their touch.
With our workshops, armed with a feather or a bit of clay and your ten fingers, you can put yourself in the shoes of a craftsman. There's no better way to exercise your creativity. And you'll leave with your own creation.

Enjoy your trip back in time!
