Belvès

Listed as one of France's most beautiful villages, troglodyte dwellings

Welcome to Belvès

Belvès is ideally located in the heart of the Périgord Noir region, 15 kilometers north of Monpazier and 20 km south of Sarlat.
You'll find a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Its name literally means "beautiful view". You'll have to climb to reach the village, which you can see from the valley both day and night.

Listed as one of the most beautiful villages in Franceperched on its spur above the Nauze valley in the Périgord Noir, Belvès is known as the medieval city of 7 bell towers.

Despite the invasions and wars that have punctuated its history, the medieval city has preserved magnificent traces of its built heritage.

Guided tours of the town are available: information and reservations from the Tourist Office (via the contact form or by telephone).
